should Iease a horse and so lessons on it?

By admin

I’ve seen some lease options that include some private lessons within the lease agreement, I would like to see how owning a horse financially would go, I’ve worked with horses already, but I have never trained them, or owned one just cleaned, can cared for them.

private lessons within the lease agreement is a great deal. If you have only cared for horses before, i would suggest taking lessons for a few months before you start leasing. Some times when you lease a horse and you go out to ride it, the trainer might not be there to make sure nothing happens. Take some lessons then ask your trainer if he/she thinks your ready for leasing. good luck!

Sounds like a neat option.
Does the lease option cover stable fees/vet fees?
The only problem I have really found with leasing horses is, it can tend to give a skewed perception of what a horse costs.
Some leasing options pay for all the stable and vet bills and only cost a few hundred dollars a month.
The real problem with that is your not paying the most expensive part of owning a horse. I’m currently paying around 300 a month for full care boarding. This doesn’t include worming, booster shots or hoof care though out the year.
Also, vet bills for horses can be RIDICULOUS. An infected foot on a dog would probably cost about 100-120 dollars, for my horse, cost me 300 dollars (and those are the little things that can go wrong).
Now don’t get me wrong I think for a first time horse owner leasing can be a super option to get you an idea what your in for. Just remember that they are pretty expensive to own at times and you need to be ready for that.

your question is hard to understand but ill give it a try:

leasing with lessons sounds great! owning a horse takes a lot of time and money. i lease a horse; im the only one that rides him, i can take him to shows, get lessons or just ride for run. its a great opportunity to lease a horse and an even better one to get lessons out of the deal! lease before you own, and be sure that you can handle the financial responsibility in the long run if you ever decide to own.
