Could you recommend some good books on horse training (Englisih)?

My daughter needs to teach her horse such things as standing while being mounted, getting on the bit, and jumping (he has done the slightest little bit of poles and 2′ jumps). What books can you recommend?
My daughter has been riding hunter/jumper for the last 6 years. The horse is not green, but he has primarily been an English pleasure horse and needs to be "polished".

Thanks for the recommendation of "The Horse Whisperer", but I couldn’t get past the raunchy language on the first page. I’ll think I’ll have to pass on letting my daughter read it. lol

Educating the young horse- the thinking trainer’s guide- by Julian Westall
I am sure there others who have better suggestions for jumping.

Books are great, but she should first establish HER skills with a trainer, and learn these things herself on an experienced horse. Horses can be dangerous, and it sounds like this is you and your daughter’s first green horse. Take your time, and definitely get help from a reputable trainer. Even if they don’t work directly with your daughter’s horse, getting the general techniques for training down is a big plus. Also, try Monty Roberts’ book, "The horse Whisperer." You’ve aready got the typical book references, but this will expand your daughter’s appreciation of the language of equus, and make training horses a passion, not just a duty. GOOD LUCK!

I’ve found books published by the Pony Club and by Cherry Hill to be straightforward and give solid advice.
